Pricing reflects the high costs of retrieving and importing small quantities from Nicaragua and the excessive packaging requirements necessary to minimize damages during shipping.

We have been working directly with the Potters for Peace representatives in Nicaragua since we began our operations. Robert and Beverly Pillers provide invaluable support in helping us reach some of the most remote and poor communities in the country. The local potters they promote provide us with most of our beautiful rustic and garden pottery. Not only do they assist in communicating and processing orders with these families and cooperatives, but they also provide important technical assistance to the potters improving quality and design. They are a crucial link in helping us represent these unique artisans, most of whom are women, to the American market.

The package we provide is produced in the local production facility in Nicaragua and imported to the US. These units include the clay vessel, 5 gallon bucket, lid, spigot, and instructions. Pricing reflects the high costs of importing small quantities, The units are sold 2 ways. The complete package including ceramic element, spigot, 5 gallon bucket, and lid. Unfortunately, the pail and ceramic element have to ship in separate boxes due to the fragile nature of the purifier. This adds to the shipping costs. You may also order the ceramic element by itself with the spigot and lid (everything except the pail). The 5 gallon pails are readily available at any hardware store or Lowes/Home Depot. Please make sure you select the correct option for your cart.
